Description: Owner Keith Richardson founded Sierra Trading Post® in 1986 in Reno, Nev. The company purchases name-brand overstocks and closeouts and passes savings on to its customers, selling dress, casual and outdoor clothing, footwear, home furnishings, accessories, and gear at savings of 35 to70 percent. Today the company has three retail stores in Reno, Nev., Cheyenne and Cody, Wyo., and two customer service call centers also located in Cheyenne and Cody. Construction of a 284,000 square-foot fulfillment center was recently completed on 40 acres in Cheyenne. Sierra Trading Post is headquartered in Cheyenne, employs more than 400 people, and mails nearly 60 million catalogs a year in the United States. More than 200 telephone representatives at call centers located in Cheyenne and Cody handle up to 150,000 calls monthly – 90 percent of these calls are answered in 30 seconds.
